THE HAPPILY EVER AFTER HOME ......START TO FINISH

Tuesday, November 19th,  MC and I proceeded  to write a  Contract on the new home in Grayson, contingent on the sale of the BLH!

We had no idea we would be making such a decision that day!!!  Surprised us both!  We were not prepared and MC made a trip to the bank to get a check so we could write the deposit!

In the end, it made sense because there was only one house left that was the Model we preferred.  If we sold the BLH quickly, we wanted a place to go!     Linda had put the house on the market the week before.

Within a three hour period,   the contract was written ,  wood flooring, cabinetry, outdoor lighting, brick color, wall paint color, hardware and carpet were all chosen!!!!  Did it all!!!  Having worked as a New Construction Realtor for many years, helping  buyers choose their colors, etc. really came in handy that afternoon!

Meg Thompson, the Site Agent, was  very helpful and Linda, our Agent, was a Godsend!  MC had no idea what we were choosing.  He stayed out of the process entirely!   He left it up to me, saying he knew I would choose wisely!!!

At six o'clock we were on the road on our way to celebrate at Macaroni Grill!!!  Linda treated us to a fabulous meal and a bottle of wine!

The day was unbelievable.  I guess when something is right, it's meant to be!

NOW ALL WE HAD TO DO WAS SELL THE BLH!!

We had Thanksgiving, our Home on the Sun City Holiday Tour, Christmas and New Years ahead of us!  The time went by very quickly!

The construction of our new home  continued.  We made weekly trips to see the progress.

On January 14th,  a charming couple from Florida, drove up to see the house.  The next afternoon, the 15th, they wrote a Contract contingent on the sale of their home in Florida.

Long story SHORT.......they sold their home and we  closed on our HAPPILY EVER AFTER HOME  last Friday, March 28th.  The movers unloaded all our "stuff" that afternoon!  Saturday, March 29th I had unpacked 60 boxes and the kitchen was fully operating!   We still have pictures, mirrors  to hang and lots and lots of projects.

I'm sure you want to SEE some pictures.  I have a few, surprise!

UNFINISHED ATTIC....A HUGE BONUS

Now you have an idea of  our doings over the last four months.  We have been busy!
The success of the sale of the BLH was ALL DUE  to our FABULOUS REALTOR,
LINDA HILLEY!!
Without Linda, none of the above would have come to be!

  1. Congratulations to you and MC. How exciting to move into a new place! I remembered when we bought our first home, we regularly make rounds during the construction process as well to make sure everything was alright. Looking forward to see the finished interiors!

  4. AWESOME! Can't wait to come see it! I need to get through this summer, and then we can plan a visit :) The ONE thing I am thinking (based on our also recent selling home experience) is that there there were great realtors on BOTH ends to get the homes SOLD in the time needed! Just SUPER!
