PLAN Z-2

 BACK TO SQUARE ONE....ALMOST!

After no call from Home Depot by early afternoon MC called them.   Now, they tell us  "maybe"  it will come in,  next week, but they can't be sure when!

MC  CANCELLED THE ORDER!

What direction to go?  Start looking for another flooring product?  What?

All week, I have been staring at this table with gold paint fogging up the mirror tile squares.  I kept thinking, (to myself), this doesn't  look too bad!  In fact I rather like the mirrors with the black frame and the gold base and legs.  I like it a lot!  Maybe we shouldn't have ordered the flooring material?     Didn't dare say a word to MC..... So when MC cancelled the order I really wasn't all that upset!  In fact, I was rather happy!

BUT WHAT ABOUT THE MIRRORS CHIPPING IN THE CORNERS? the reason for this entire exercise!

Remember those "star" studs that are put in sections of mirrors?  We used them with the mirror tiles in our last home   (I have looked, but can't find a picture)  They looked great.  We're not sure how they would work on a table top, but they would cover,  and hopefully,  stop the chipping in the corners where the mirrors meet.

MC is all for looking into this...it's another trip to Lowes!   Not Home Depot!

If we have time,  we will look tomorrow.  Sunday is a big day here.  We're having a "Get Together" (I hate the word "MEETING")  of all the Committee Heads and Volunteers that are part of  the Holiday Tour Of  Homes  we are heading up.  This is one reason why I was hoping the table would be finished by Sunday.

MC TO THE RESCUE!

Last year we replaced the typical builder light fixtures in our Master Bath.  I was able to convince MC to order ,  two,  "hanging" lights.  I wanted the "light" to be at face height, not coming from above.  We couldn't install sconces,  so I came up with the brilliant "Epiphany" to order chain lamps!  and they were very inexpensive.....no surprise why!

The shape and function was acceptable, but every time I entered the room,  all I saw was shinny, gold, chain lamps from 1970!  I figured they would grow on me.  Wrong, they  never did.  I thought I had made a big mistake, and then I had one of my "Epiphanies"

I could use Rub and Buff and tone down the 1970 "shine"!  I tried, I really did.  The Rub and Buff slid all over the place.  I learned it simply didn't adhere to  glossy,  lacquered finishes!  I made them worse.  Not to mention what it did to the psoriasis outbreak on my hands.....(another story, for another time and place)

The end result was an uneven disaster!.  Not only impossible to keep the stuff "in place" but it  left hunks of "Rub and Buff" all over the fixtures!  These photos don't really show how bad it really looked............A BIG MESS.  I'd put it up there with the one of the Top 10 Mistakes!

What to do?

I did what I always do.

WENT TO MC

Like "MIGHTY MOUSE"

MC.... "CAME TO THE RESCUE"

He went to his favorite place, you all know, Lowes, and bought a can of antique gold spray paint.
Then he set up his Paint Box!
Then hung the chain lamp, one at a time!  And spray painted them to perfection!

This morning, MC, Master Crafter rehung the lamps!

The Master Bath is no longer in the 1970's
Thanks to MC we are in 2012!!

FALL AT THE SOUTHERN LIVING IDEA HOME 2012

Finally, I made it to the Southern Living Idea Home.  I was scheduling my visit with the group of "Girls" that I plan the Social  activities for  in our small neighborhood in  Sun City Peachtree, south of Atlanta.  We put the day off until the heat subsided.

It worked in our favor....We were informed,  as we entered,  that they had just finished decorating the home for the Holidays....So it was filled with Christmas!  A gift for us!

Pictures were ALLOWED.......if none of the CHRISTMAS DECOR was posted on line!!!!!!!  The home is being featured in the December 2013 issue.

I snapped away......

If you see a wreath, or two, let it be known that they surely are FALL OR HALLOWEEN  wreaths........

I know you have been treated to many pictures of this house, hopefully if you look close you will get a glimpse of some new decor!

The Kitchen is the Center of the home.  I have a great shot of the lovely Great Room, but the Halloween Tree looks too much like another Holiday!

A warm and cozy sitting area off one of the terraces.

 Guest Bedrooms

I WAS THRILLED TO SEE THIS COWHIDE RUG!  IF IT'S GOOD ENOUGH FOR THE SOUTHERN LIVING HOUSE, IT'S SURELY GOOD ENOUGH FOR THE BUCKET LIST HOUSE.

Master Bedroom

This is a charming "spot" at the top of the stairs.....loved it!

Some of the Great Bathrooms in the Home

Look at the wallpaper in this bath!
 Wow!
Little sheep jumping all over the walls!

The back Terrace was the absolute favorite spot with all the Girls....Lovely place to enjoy the Fall day, even a fire pit!

YES, THERE I AM......Do you know where?  I'm the second from the end,  on the right, with the gray sweater and white turtle neck.  The girls insisted I get in one of the pictures and grabbed a volunteer to take this picture!!!

It was a fun day.  Before our tour we had a lovely lunch at Founders Restaurant, on the main street of Senoia.
Here....

Great afternoon.  Perfect day to go.  Glad we waited!  It is open through December.  If you can make it...do plan a visit!here
