We also are having my "saving the arm" chair delivered Thursday! The "lounge" chair that we ordered last month...the one I have been searching for for over 6 months.....It's coming Thursday!! I can't wait to have a comfortable spot to see TV!!!
Meanwhile I want to share something.. My post about the 2012 Holiday Tour created a lot of questions about the Bucket List House. I have to tell the truth. I added the two pictures of the Bucket List House from last year when it was on the Tour! This year, literally, all we have done is hang the wreath on the front door......WE ARE BAD! But we are tired and decided since we wouldn't have any guests during Christmas week, why?????
So for all of those who missed the Post of last year when the Bucket List House was on the Tour, I'm showing a RE-RUN!!!! .....we have done a lot of changes over these last 12 months. Dining / Kitchen tables flipped, chairs, paintings, mirrors, wall units...you name it ....tons of changes.....
ENJOY.......REPRINT FROM LAST YEAR!
2011 HOLIDAY TOUR OF HOMES
DECEMBER 4, 2011
IT'S TIME..... LET THE FUN BEGIN................................
MC and I have had a ball (MC painting all the silver balls and ornaments gold) preparing for this day!!!
I'VE CREATED AND DIRECTED MC HAS DONE THE HARD WORK
If I may, I wish to tell you all a little about the Christmas decors we have had over our 52 years.
Back in the "Olden Days", the tree went up around December 18th and came down after January 6th.
While the children were growing up, the TREE, and it's decor, was a surprise.
About a week before Christmas, when my three little "angels" would go off to school,I would spend the day decorating the tree. Each year it was different!!! Different ornaments, colors, you name it.....no tree was ever the same !!!!
The kids loved coming home to a magical tree that they had never seen before!!
Their least favorite.....A BLACK TREE, yes the tree itself was BLACK. I filled it with peach roses!!!! I never hear the end of that one!!
ENJOY MY GOLD YEAR
WELCOME
We wish to thank all who visited us today!!!!
To all who were unable to be here, we hope the pictures enabled you to "see" the Bucket List House DRESSED-UP for Christmas!!!
Oh my! Very classy! I love how you two worked together to great such a transformation!!! Use and reuse is the motto of your gilded wonderland... Fabulous.
ReplyDeleteYes, It's always a surprise to see what the tree looks like each year. I remember red bows one year that would appear elsewhere around the house later in the year, either intentionally or not! Beautiful house this year Mom..good job!
ReplyDeleteEverything was exquisite! Very well done, you two!
ReplyDeleteWow!! The Midas Touch...beautiful. Now, if someone would come and do my tree.... I loved coming home to a Christmas tree already finished. Spoiled me for my adult life! Enjoy it all now.
ReplyDeleteWonderful!!! A great "theme" - very well executed.
ReplyDeletethe gold in the tree is my favorite part!!!!
ReplyDeleteI especially love the dining room table Patty. Wow!!
ReplyDeleteAnd.....remove the gold ornaments and the table is perfect year round
ReplyDeleteLove it, so beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you posted the pictures. It is so much work so it's fine that you skipped this year. It was beautiful never-the-less.

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness Patty, it's gorgeous!! Wow! I don't blame you for only putting up a wreath this year; last year looks like it was a ton of work! But it looks so spectacular! haha I love the cute sign with the "evacuation route"!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to seeing your new chairs!
Patty your home was so beautifully appointed for the tour. Every single detail was done with restraint and an elegant touch.
