MC AND I TAKE OVER SAVANNAH!

As everyone knows by now, MC and I are celebrating our 55th Anniversary.    We decided to use our Gift Certificate ...gifted to us at Christmas by Steve, Angela, Tess and Isabelle for a two night stay at a Bed and Breakfast Inn in Savannah.

Our Gift Certificate was for the Armstrong Inns:

armstronginns.com

They have quite a number of choices to make.  Different types of facilities to suit all.

Early Thursday evening.....Our Anniversary began with a greeting from our new neighborhood.  We have moved into a great community,  north east of Atlanta, Olde Town Grayson, in "surprise" Grayson, Georgia.

We truly have found a wonderful community when we moved here.  Everyone is super friendly and the community is just right for us!!!  I think there will be a total of under 125 homes when built out.

MC gave me another gift before we left, in addition to the beautiful Post he wrote on the Blog!  He had our CAR WASHED.......................Oh how I love a clean,  shinny car, inside and out!  I know it just rides smoother!!!

IT'S SO HAPPY, IT'S SMILING

We headed out for Savannah around 11:00am Friday morning the 25th... no need to get up too early!   It's about a 4 1/2 drive and we were due to arrive around five.

Made it in plenty of time, even with a stop for a break, at Panera's, of course, in Augusta.

OUR ARMSTRONG INN
THE CHATHAM SUITE

We are staying at the Armstong Inn in  the Chatham Suite  on the corner of West Wayne and Barnard Street in front of Chatham Square.
It's actually a townhome!  We have two floors with living, dining, and a full  kitchen  on the first floor and a huge bedroom and bath upstairs!!  There are three fireplaces,  two TV's,  two balconies, etc, etc.

FIRST FLOOR

THE MOST IMPORTANT FEATURE

OUR LIFE-SAVING HANDRAIL

Believe me, we would never make it up the stairs WITHOUT this ingenious feature!!!

WHEN we were able to get upstairs, we found a fabulous
Master Suite

Roaming around the "suite".  What can I say......we can't go anywhere without our computers!!!

DID YOU NOTICE THAT BED!
MC WAS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW HE WAS GOING TO GET IN
BUT

 AHH
HE MADE IT!
SO SO COZY

Savannah is a beautiful city.  We have walked all around enjoying the homes, shops, and the lovely Squares!!

I have already been on Realtor.com to snoop! Found a great "buy" on Bull Street for $3,400,000.
Where ever we go, even Hawaii, we checked out housing and houses for sale.  This is a winner!

WE LEFT OUR DEPOSIT.......

Tonight we had our
ROMANTIC DINNER!

FEAST YOUR EYES ON THIS !!
THE OWNER WENT TO AN AUCTION
BID $400
NO ONE ELSE BID
HE GOT IT!!!!!!

OUR WAITER, STEVEN, WAS SO NICE TO TAKE OUR PICTURES!
(WITH GLASSES)
WITHOUT GLASSES
MC'S DESSERT...BREAD PUDDING
MINE
CHOCOLATE MUD PIE
Hands down....mine was and looks so, so much better!  It was HEAVENLY!

I can not leave this Post without the
HIGHLIGHT OF OUR WEEKEND

I mentioned earlier in this Post that when we travel we "house hunt and or look at homes.  NORMAL people go to museums, shops, places of history.   Not us......WE LOOK AT HOUSES!!!

I HAD TO ADD THIS SIDE TRIP TO OUR AFTERNOON.....
LAST YEAR I WAS IN A BOOK CLUB IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD, DOLCETTO.  ONE OF THE AUTHORS WE READ WAS MARY KAY ANDREWS.  I EVEN WENT TO ONE OF HER BOOK SIGNINGS!
SHE HAS A SERIES OF BOOKS ABOUT FICTIONAL CHARACTERS THAT ARE INVOLVED WITH A "MOTEL" ON TYBEE ISLAND,GEORGIA.  TO THIS DAY, MARY KAY HAS A WORKING INN THERE!   I HAD TO SEE THIS PLACE.  IT EXISTS, GIRLS!!!  MC AND I DROVE OUT TO TYBEE ISLAND AND FOUND IT.

FOR THE GIRLS

MC and I can not thank Steve, Angela, Tess and Isabelle enough for this lovely, ROMANTIC,
fun weekend we have had!!!!!!!!!

And so it continues.....55+ years of BLISS
Patty

  2. What a wonderful place to spend you anniversary - we love Savannah and a side trip to Tybee must have been a treat. I love the charm there with all of the lively painted homes. Your suite was terrific and the restaurant looked wonderful. As a chocoholic myself, I would have liked your dessert, Patty. So happy you enjoyed yourselves and happy, happy Anniversary. I almost forgot to ask, did MC buy you that 3.4 million dollar house?…just checking…

  4. A very quaint and pretty place that reminded me of New England. I would have to bring along my folding stool in order to get into that bed. It looks like you both had a wonderful time which is what I'm sure your family had in mind for you.

Also your new neighbors are so sweet and I can see you made the right choice in moving there. Once again Happy Anniversary!
