And you know me, I have moved things around a little, just a little!
We are thrilled we entered into this adventure and feel so fortunate we found Double D and D Remodeling. David, his Dad and the entire Crew were outstanding. MC and I can not say enough to praise them. Not only do they do a fantastic job, and know what they are doing, but they have been an absolute Joy to have had in our home. We became "Family" and we are going to miss them.
Here are the pictures to prove my praises!!!
Before I begin, I have to relate a comment a very dear friend made the other day. She said: "Patty, you have to have a Loretta Young "shot" picture of you coming through the doors, like she did every week on TV". So guys, I did some research and found many videos of Loretta opening and entering the room to begin her weekly shows. I searched and searched my closet, and could not find an outfit with a mid calf length, very full skirt, a wide belt and a gorgeous long sleeved blouse with a stand up collar and wide cuffs. This will have to do!!!
Now on to all the fabulous results of three weeks work!
First the
FRENCH DOORS
OH LA LA
SO FRENCH
SO GRAND
SO FRENCH
SO GRAND
NOW ON TO THE MAIN "EVENT"
THE SHOWER
THE AFTER PICTURES
WE HAVEN'T USED IT YET!
WAITING FOR THE CEILING BRACE!
DUE TOMORROW OR TUESDAY?
NOW ON TO THE CHANGES BROUGHT ON
TO ALLOW THE
FRENCH DOORS
TO BE THE STAR!
SOFA HAD TO MOVE AWAY FROM THE WINDOW WALL
IT NOW FACES THE FIREPLACE
WITH ABOUT 3 FEET WALKING SPACE
BEHIND IT
I HAD A CRAZY "EPIPHANY"
TO MOVE ERICA'S BOW ART PIECE
OVER THE FIREPLACE
REASONS.
1. WANTED TO EXTEND THE "WHITE" IN THE ROOM UPWARDS
2. FELT A NEED TO TONE DOWN ALL THE DIFFERENT REFLECTIONS THE MIRRORS CREATED. CLEANED IT UP!
3. THE MIRROR TILES AS A SURROUND MADE A COOL FRAME FOR THE BOW ART PIECE.
OF COURSE...
WHAT DID I DO OVER THE BED????
FOR THE PAST FEW MONTHS I HAVE SEEN
IN PHOTOS OVER AND OVER
SMALL SUNBURST MIRRORS
OVER
KING BEDS.
SO
THAT'S
WHAT
I
DID!!!!
It's an easy redo if necessary, but for now it's FUN!

DeletePatty, LOVE your Loretta Young shot, you are adorable! Everything looks so wonderful and such nice looking and functional changes. Your home looks like a model! Congrats on a project well thought out and well done,

A model....how funny.
DeleteThank you so much Kathysue. I agree both are functional. I always felt the tub was a waste of "real estate".
Congratulations, Loretta! Ooops, I mean, Patty :) The French doors look like they have always been there. Divine!!! And the master bath: fabulous and sooooo spacious. Hope you get to enjoy it soon.

ReplyDeleteClaire, we have a tub/shower in our guest room en-suite AKA The Epiphany Suite!
DeleteBubble away!
Your bathroom looks so great, Patty and HUGE!! I can't believe how much bigger it looks!! I am the biggest fan of French doors - such a craver of light and yours look gorgeous - know you are so excited about all the great work - isn't it fun to watch it all come to fruition? Love your dress too!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks so much larger, and so functional. The tub was a waste of "real estate"! That dress! It's actually a Tommy Bahama dress I bought for MC's company's convention trip to Hawaii in 2000!!!!!!
DeleteWow, wow, wow...Patty! I'm speechless. That shower is a DREAM which won't ever happen in my house but it's so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteAnd your living room, dining room and bedroom a also stunning.

Speaking of doors- the french doors look stunning in your living room. Just absolutely gorgeous. And all the furniture rearranging to work with the new doors looks so good. Everything is amazing- you must be so thrilled!!
ReplyDeleteMore than Thrilled!
DeleteYou are so right, we love the shower open, without a door! It's perfect.
So far the new arrangements are working. But you know me, I will always be tweaking.............
I didn't think it could be more beautiful but that shower is absolutely amazing! The French doors are the perfect timeless addition! Every room is really stunning ~ hope you sit back and enjoy it all for a bit!
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying, don't know much about "sitting back". How do you do that?
