It's already hung in it's special spot in our Family Gallery Hall!!!  Every piece, except the whimsy poster from the entrance to our community, has been done by a family member!!!!  This entrance hall goes from the front door into the Great Room!  It's 33 feet long !!!!!  A True Gallery Hall!

We're Still Here......

It has been a few weeks since I wrote a Post.  Really no reason except MC and I move at a slower pace these days!

The last few weeks we have enjoyed great visits with family and friends,  and expect my Brother and Sister in Law next week.  We don't have the great "Epiphany Suite" here, but we do have the EZ bed and it has received pretty good "reviews"!!!

Also consuming a lot of our time!!!!   We have been Trying to brush up on our Bridge skills last used in the 60's!  Now let me tell you, the game is not at all what we remember.  It now has a language all of it's own !!!  Hopefully I will figure it out--- soon.  Foreign Languages were not my forte in school, and this is really challenging me!

But....we did venture out to IKEA last week.   We figured out how to use our large TV in the TV/Guest room, but needed a cabinet for it to sit on.   Where else to find one..IKEA of course.  We got the perfect piece.  This has been MC's first IKEA challenge.  We bought two doors for it and MC could not for his life get them to "fit" correctly.    So...we used just the one and I balanced out the other side with the shelves full of all my magazines and catalogs.

This past week I have actually been able to SEE  Downton Abbey !

Then I had an EPIPHANY!!!   Haven't had one in ages.....   Since we were in the TV mode,  I thought why not put the smaller TV we had on the kitchen counter inside the cabinet over the refrigerator!!!!!  The cabinet was empty.  We have a huge pantry that houses so much  This affords us lots of empty kitchen cabinet shelves!!!  Jealous!!!!

Proposed my idea to MC,  and he went for it!   He painted the inside of the cabinet black,(my idea) and  repositioned the cable and electrical stuff!  TA DA it was done.  It's fabulous...we can see it from the table and our stools perfectly!!!

WE ARE NOW ABLE TO VIEW TV AND ACTUALLY SEE IT  FROM EVERYWHERE!!!!
AMAZING.

I made one other change.  I asked MC to hand the mirror over the fireplaceIt was resting on the mantle and made me nervous!  After it was up I thought now I can add some goodies on the mantle to give it more pizazz!

Our weather has been cold, but no where near the devastating conditions so  many of you are experiencing.  MC and I hope everyone is OK and this snow and cold turns to Spring SOON.

The worst we experienced was a small ice storm the other night.  MC took a  picture of the huge pine trees that are behind our house.  This is the worst we have had and consider ourselves very lucky!!

Talk soon,
Patty

It Might Be January......BUT

We are ready for a party!!!!
Drinks at 4:00!!!
It's on the way to 60 degrees!!!

Added four sheer drapery panels to our Terrace/Dining Room!!
Boy, what a difference!
What started out as a terrible eye sore has evolved into a lovely space.  It will only get better when we can add color with hanging flower baskets in a few months!  Meanwhile,  our new shrubs are growing at a RAPID rate.  Could my  getting  down on my knees  each morning, in front of them,  saying....."GROW, GROW, GROW"   have anything to do with that!!!!!!!

Meanwhile inside I have a big confession.  In case you haven't read a few posts back I will show you.

We were moving things around and WOW I just felt the mirror belonged over the fireplace!!!  But knowing me, it could "belong" somewhere else next month!!!

The treasured Christening Dress has returned to the Master Bedroom.

For now this is a Good Thing!!!

See you soon,
Patty

One of our most meaningful gifts from him!
I had to share!!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

MC and I wish EVERYONE a VERY HAPPY 2015!!!!    THE BEST!!!

We returned from Nashville Sunday evening safe and sound after spending a wonderful Christmas with our son Steve, Angela, Isabelle and Angela's Mom, Gemma, visiting from Seoul.  Santa came through and the room was filled with wonders!

Yesterday was time to take down all of Christmas.  We had the flocked tree, all 9 feet of it, and by the time I removed all the gold ornaments, I was a 5ft flocked tree!!!  The nursery wraps the tree in a huge plastic covering that is rolled to the floor while using it.  When it's time to remove it, all you have to do is pull up the plastic and PRESTO  it's ready to carry out!!!!

New Year and time to give a little different look to the room! This gave me thought to soften some of the black in the room and switched out our black accent pillows for our soft blue ones.   We also put my treasured Mitchell  Gold /Bob Williams mirrored desk and "Too Sexy Sadie" chair in the space that the tree had occupied.    Good Look to start  2015!

Spending a quiet evening tonight.....remember we are "OLD"!   Or I could put it "We are  spending a quiet romantic evening !"

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Until NEXT YEAR
Patty

I HAVE MADE A COMMENT UNDER THE PUBLISHED COMMENTS.  TODAY IS JANUARY 18TH AND WE HAVE CHANGED THE PLACE FOR THE DRESS.  YES, I KNOW, WE ARE NUTS, BUT I LIKE IT IN THE MASTER BEDROOM AND I LOVE THIS MIRROR OVER THE FIREPLACE..

Please forgive me.......I do love the DRESS in both places.  Maybe I will change it out every now and then just for fun  !!!!

A DAY OF CHRISTMAS SPIRIT AT OLDE TOWN GRAYSON

Today was a huge day for Olde Town Grayson.

THE FIRST
ANNUAL
HOLIDAY TOUR OF HOMES

Five very gracious, charming, and pretty "daring" Residents, opened their homes for our First Annual Tour of Homes.  We hope many, many will follow in the years ahead!

I have organized many Tours over the past 7 years and this one, the smallest one to date, was by far
THE BEST
Everyone, all the residents, guests, and all the fabulous Homeowners who opened their homes, were jewels to work with!!!!

It proceeded without one hick-up!   Quite a feat I must say!
Everyone had a fun, great time.  We ended the afternoon at our Model Home which was overflowing with yummies.....lots of chocolates!!!  Thanks to our gracious Sales Associate, Meg Thompson,  who donated her time and efforts to make the day complete.    I was in Heaven!

So many Thanks go out to our wonderful Hosts......
Moe and Frank Dorio
Laura and Tom Gardner
Linda and Lowell Gibbs
Kathy and Dean Gross
and
MC and Myself who threw our home in just for fun!!!!

We raised a good sum for our Club House and I can't Thank You ALL  ENOUGH!!!!!

Here are a few pictures of our fun filled day......

NOW I'LL ADD A LITTLE OF
THE HAPPILY EVER  AFTER  HOME

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL
