AN AWESOME DECOR

Over the past few years we have met many, many people.  Few here in Sun City have a similar take on design as I do.  When I met Patty, yes, another Patty, ( and her husband's name is Steve!), she mentioned her home was very similar to ours!  I visited last month and this morning returned with MC.  She loved my SW Silver Strand paint and had painted  a couple of her rooms .  The color was as perfect in her home as it is  in ours!!!

The work they have done in their home is amazing!    I have been trying to describe all they did for weeks and now with their permission,  MC took a few pictures so I can share them with everyone.

Steve is an expert at working with tile and has done FABULOUS tile flooring, back splashes and has  plans of more genus projects  to come.  He is redoing all the tile work in their home.  The tile flooring goes through the kitchen, casual dining room,  screened porch, patio and will continue into the outside hard landscaping.  This area will include an outside kitchen, dining area and a seating area.  ALL DONE BY STEVE!    When that's finished they  have unbelievable plans for their baths, which I hope to see when completed.

These pictures were taken with my iPhone!   I had  hoped to be able to give you  a glimpse of what outstanding work they have done, but with the iPhone the detail doesn't show up!  MC did the best he could!

Their furnishings are white, with crystals and silver tones.   Even their family cat is white and blends in perfectly!!!

FEBRUARY......

January was long and cold!!!
I wasn't going to write a new Post until we moved, but waiting IS TOO HARD!
I have been sitting here, not changing a thing, going crazy!!

Linda, our Realtor, started this madness when she stopped by yesterday afternoon.

She asked if I  ever used other colors in our home decor!

I immediately thought about my Red Ottoman!

We had bought the red ottoman years ago when Kenneth Brown, my favorite Designer,  suggested it for our cocktail table.  Kenneth believes every room needs some POP OF RED!

I must add at this point.  Magz, I am only borrowing it....it is yours and you will get it as soon as you move.

We had the ottoman packed away in the garage.  The moment I showed it to Linda all madness proceeded!!

We tore the house upside down.  Pictures, chairs, pillow, tons of  accessories ......all moved.....
We were adding RED to my White, Black, Gold, Silver and Gray decor!!!

It made sense!
What color comes to mind for February?  RED..of course!

OK....OK I'll stop the chatter and put up the pictures......

See that little POP of RED???

WE DO WHAT WE MUST!

We all know that "SELLERS" have to spend money to put their homes on the market.  What sellers can live with, future buyers can't!
When we lowered the ledge .....The IRON CURTAIN... the granite didn't "quite" butt together perfectly.  David did three different approaches.  The best we had was something we could live with.  I knew when we put our home on the market we might have to replace the entire 12 foot slab.  I was right!  We should have done it in the first place, but decided to "save" our money!!!

If you look closely you can see where the epoxy is very visible.  Not a clean fit!
The only way we could solve this was to bite the bullet and replace the entire 12 slab!!!

So......that's what we are doing.

We found the granite. Monday morning,  David and crew came out to remove the original piece.

And so the work began!

First step to the process was to remove the existing sink

Then, with a lot of STRENGTH the granite was removed!

Because of it's size and weight, David broke it into two pieces

AND HERE WE ARE!

WAITING FOR NEW SLAB TO BE INSTALLED

A FEW DINNERS OUT!!!

We are anticipating the new piece to be installed tomorrow.

This gives the term "Open Concept" an entirely new meaning!!
