I think MC is actually proud of me. I haven't been TOO unmanageable.
STEP ONE
David and his crew will probably start working on the shower and the French Doors the week of Labor Day. Availabilities of products, weather and subcontractor's schedules all play important roles in the big picture.....
19 days! Hopefully will be the formal start!
That's not TOO LONG! Well not long for most. It was over two months ago when this project was literally "BORN"! (by that I mean MC going along!)
In Reality, The "Epiphany" was created (in my head) not long after we moved in! It took all this time to get it going.
Meanwhile, we do have a small element complete! Remember I saw the possibility of a wine bar in the built-ins? I restyled the cabinet on the "outside" side of the wall. This will be just a few steps from the new French Doors! We also added a wine refrigerator under the cabinet. It holds just the right amount of white wine bottles.
It took a lot of research, but MC found one on line that "fit". The space was very small! It had to be less than 15" width and not too deep....leaving room to fit in the space.
added design feature....
You can store open bottles upright!!

WE ARE ON OUR WAY
LET THE PARTIES BEGIN

DeleteThat's the perfect size wine cooler! I'm just like you Patty, no patience lol.
ReplyDeleteIt really was a great find....I tried, but MC found it!
DeleteYAY! wine bars are always a plus in my book!!!!
ReplyDeleteWill certainly help the time go by!!!
DeleteNow we know where you will be parked during 'the project'! Love the wine bar--so smart. Fingers crossed that 'the project' goes effortlessly.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping it all goes smooth as glass....I'm staying positive! It's the waiting.......
DeleteWhere's the cheese?
ReplyDeleteHave to work on that!
DeleteI think the most exciting part of any project is the anticipation and the planning. Your home is beautifully styled, Patty, and I'm excited to follow your progress.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right. It's like waiting for Santa!!!
DeleteLet's partayyyyy! You all are geniuses!!! Such a perfect place for a wine bar. Enjoy :)
ReplyDeleteFLASH,
DeleteMC has agreed to construct a wine rack that will hold a case of wine in the cubby that now has the small wine holder. That small holder will move up to the middle cubby.
Things evolve around here at a fast pace!!!
Patty, I also pictured french doors there because I didn't have the sunroom either. Just may do it in my new house in Texas. I know you are going to love the glamour shower, makes all the sense in the world, no ledge to trip on when getting in the shower. Can't wait to see the finished product. Kudos to MC for finally giving in...
ReplyDeletePerfect place for French Doors. Hope you can do it in Texas!!!
DeleteYou're never going to have to leave your little retreat! Except the trips for diy supplies. :)
ReplyDeleteOh but I will for a great steak!
DeleteYou had me at the minibar. Beautiful space. Thanks for posting the photos and feel free to drop by me too anytime.
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping in. We are going to love our wine bar!
