OUR DREAM VACATION!!!

GOTCHA!

MC and I will never take that DREAM VACATION.....It' just not in our cards!

BUT

We will do a little renovation around the BLH.  This way our "Dream Vacation" will live on.

We choose to have our "Dream Vacation" continue day to day, year to year.
We hope to convert our Master Bathroom into a space we can fully use.  The soaking tub takes up a lot of "real estate" in that room.  It's never been used!  I am now at the point where it has become a huge effort to keep clean!  One of these days I figure I will fall head first into it!

Our contractor is booked up for almost two months.  Hopefully work will begin in mid August!  I have no idea what I can come up with for Posts until the work begins.  I might be on a long hiatus!

Here is what we have today....Our  BEFORE pictures.

All of the above will be REMOVED!!!!

In it's place will be a walk-in shower!  Wall to Wall!   11 feet!  Tiled to the ceiling with a built in bench.  We will continue the tile that's on the floor into the "shower".  It will encase the window which will be replaced with  one that allows the light to enter, but you won't be able to see in.  Good thing!!! It has a Rain design, simple,  so it doesn't get too busy with the tile.

The glass will be  "frame less"  and clear,  running  8 feet leaving  a 3 foot opening at the end--- to walk in.......no door!

Between now and then, maybe Epiphanies will come,  (no cost ones!)---- but if not, I haven't gone anywhere......
We have our tickets!  Just waiting for our vacation to begin!!!

Patty

  9. Hi Patty,

Vacations are pricey and are over quickly. Our homes, or sanctuary ;) is most important. It has to be right, making us feel like we really want to be there. It's wise to invest in it!! Your bedroom master bath will be spectacular I'm sure. I understand what you are saying regarding the tub.. I never use mine. I'm thinking when we re-do the space I will put a little vanity there.

    Enjoy your week! xxleslie

    1. Leslie, that is what a number of our neighbors are adding....either a vanity or a larger shower! The tubs have been collecting dust way too long!

  14. Oh lady, this will be the mother of all your projects. I love a bathroom with a fab shower, seamless glass doors and all the bells and whistles to boot. I personally have only used my jacuzzi tub about 5 times in all the years I've had it. In my dream house there will be a shower fit for royalty for sure. Can't wait to see this all unfold.

  16. We had a tub shower set up very similar to yours in a previous home. After dusting out the tub for a few years, we tore it out and added a new big walk in shower. So much more practical and luxurious. Excited to see your project unfold!!

  17. I ditched the tub in our Master Bath 3 years ago.I replaced it with a walk in shower and storage. The "stager" in me said it was a bad decision for resale but it makes so much more sense for us. I was especially glad the shower was there when I broke my ankle. No way could I have maneuvered around that bathtub. It will be fun for us to see what you select for your new bathroom.

  18. Hi, Patty! Hope you and MC are relaxing during this short break. I can't wait for your bathroom renovation to start. I know you all will do a fabulous job :)

We have been away, and just returned home. The garden is a mess, so I am not looking forward to gardening in 90 degree temps. We were in Maine, where it was just beautiful and cool.

    Take care,
    Loi
