THE BEST OF THE BEST

WHAT MC DID OVER HIS SUMMER VACATION

Four months ago, MC joined an "Interest Group" at our Amenity Center. The Group is called The Wood Carving Group......and I think MC has enjoyed every minute!

LET THE SHOW BEGIN

SELF PORTRAITS

MC AND FRIENDS

THE EPIPHANY LADY

I never know what's coming next!!!!

They start out as a 4" block of basswood and with his carving knives he goes to work!!!!!

Our LUCKY neighbors will be able to see these masterpieces in person. The Lifestyle Director visited the group while they were carving this past week. She thought they would be PERFECT for the display case in the Amenity Center.....

THE LIGHTS HAVE IT.....

FINALLY....THE LAST BUILDER FIXTURES ARE.....GONE!!!

It took months, but my priorities were in other places.....

Actually, I just never could figure out the best solution for the Master Bath vanity lighting. I can't tell you how many sources I checked out....way too many !!! Then, a few weeks ago it hit me.....you know one of those Epiphany things!

I was looking in all the wrong places! I am the CHANDELIER QUEEN! Why not look for chandelier lighting??? All that time devoted to typical bath vanity lighting....

In very little time I found just the right color and size I needed and placed the order.

MC just finished installing them ..... the difference is like night and day!

WE HEARD FROM THE HOA.....WE ARE NOW

DOLCETTO

WE ARE OFFICIALLY NO LONGER A "POD"

When MC and I heard the wonderful news, that the Board approved our 1st choice.....We got in the car and drove to Atlanta to buy some bottles for our neighbors and ourselves.. We checked local shops, but they only could special order the variety. We didn't want to "wait" .....and it was a good reason to spend a fun day in Atlanta.

Dolcetto is a black wine grape variety widely grown in the Piedmont region of northwest Italy. The Italian word for dolcetto means "little sweet one", but it is not certain that the name originally carried any reference to the grape's sugar levels: it is possible that it derives from the name of the hills where the vine is cultivated. In any case the wines produced are nearly always dry. They can be tannic and fruity with moderate, or decidedly low, levels of acidity and are typically meant to be consumed one to two years after release.

Dolcetto wines are known for black cherry and licorice flavors with some prunes.
Overall, Dolcetto is considered a light, easy drinking red wine that pairs well with pastas and pizza dishes.

IT IS A GREAT NAME
WE LOVE IT

YOU KNOW YOU'RE GETTING OLD WHEN................

OR....YOU KNOW THINGS ARE SLOW WHEN...............

The THRILL of the day was a trip to Target!

I realized, that although we are retired, it's nice to know:

What time it is when you wake up in the middle of the night!
What Month it is!
What Day of the Week it is!
The temperature outside
The temperature inside
The option of having to set the alarm.....not often if I can avoid early
appointments!

We didn't have a working alarm clock. We have clocks, some quite large, all over the house, but none in the bedroom.....

Today, I broke down ........I realized that it would be nice to know what time it is when I wake up and what day it is and, Yes, what the month is! The feature of knowing the temperature inside and out is a nice extra bit of knowledge to have. At least while I lay in bed, I can figure out what clothes I need for the day!

What information I will now have as I open my eyes in the morning!!!

By the way, MC has been working on a "new" hobby this summer. Hopefully,
he will be finished soon, so I can share!!! You all will love this one!!!!!

THE REVEAL............

ILLUSION IN THE MAKING

The Illusion I showed last Saturday gave the impression that our Dining Room table had four side chairs and two matching wing back Host Chairs.

This is how it was accomplished....

DINING ROOM IN REALITY
(NOTE THERE IS LITTLE ROOM BETWEEN TABLE AND WINDOW WALL)

STEP 1
MOVE TABLE ABOUT A FOOT TOWARDS HALL
(NOT AS HARD AS IT LOOKS!)

STEP 2

PUT CHAIR IN PLACE

DINING ROOM IN REALITY

STEP 3
PUSH TABLE ABOUT A FOOT TOWARDS WINDOW WALL

STEP 4
PUT CHAIR AT END OF TABLE

IN REALITY THERE ISN'T THE SPACE TO HAVE THE CHAIR AT EITHER END OF THE TABLE........

This was fun for me to demonstrate. I see "tricks" in my magazines so often.
Hope you had fun with this. Check your emails for UPDATES FROM THE BUCKET LIST HOUSE. Hopefully the weather will cool and MC will be able to start the next project..............
