OMG--I think I could have gone to jail!

It never, ever, dawned on me when I used the word "Pinterest" in my new section called Patty's Personal Pinterest, that I may be using the word, "Pinterest" without legal "permission" !!!  So I am renaming it:
QUICKLY!!!
to:
Patty's Personal Binterest...  I think it's even clever-er....that's probably not a word, but I'm using it anyway.....(MC says Pinterest and Binterest aren't words either so why not!)

The Bucket List House hasn't changed in a week!  That is a record!  Not that I am "finished",  I will never be finished!!  I just haven't thought of anything!   Could it be my age?

  I am serious about your sending me your personal projects.  I would love to Show-Off  your ideas.  I might even copy some of them...with permission, of course!

You know I love the painting above the credenza!  The  feel of this room is soft and restful.  

 The mixture of woods, metals and fabrics are perfect!  Texture, texture ....texture!

A tasteful balance of dark and light, and traditional and contemporary elements comes into play inside this modern Buckhead high-rise with sweeping views of the city. This room was designed with the most gorgeous antiques.  Priceless and gorgeous!!!  Patti and I marveled at how Grand it was!!!

Patty's Epiphanies will be a little different today.  I don't know about  you, but I am very "over" seeing pictures of my Great Room!  Even if I were to put our bed in there, I wouldn't bore you with it!  It's time to do something DIFFERENT!

The Peak of Chic

When Patti and I visited the Atlanta Symphony's Show House last April, we met Jennifer.  She and John designed the Gentleman's Parlor for the Show House.  It was absolutely stunning!.  Jennifer was so open and interesting to talk to.  I wish I had brought my camera, but believe it or not, I left it home!  ON PURPOSE!   I didn't think pictures were permitted!  That will never, ever,  happen again!

The textures and materials used in this tiny space were magnificent.   The custom  designed wall hanging above the bar, brought all the elements together, creating the look any Gentleman's Parlor would demand!

MC has created a new Little Me!

I know all his fans will fall in love with this addition to the Collection.  It's my favorite!  Each time he does a new one it becomes my favorite!

 This one is very special.  This is MC!!!  This is the MC I spend my evenings with!  This is the Love Of My Life!!!

THE SAGA OF THE "MIRROR"

REMEMBER THIS

 

GREAT BUY..$4.25..... AND SO SO   "in"!

How simple!  Bring it home.... MC would spray it gold!  Then hang it!

Easy

Well.......maybe .....not that easy!

With a little hesitation,  I told MC where I wanted it hung!  I'm sure not where he expected!  He looked at me like I was nuts!  He knew this was going to call upon his very clever McGiver talents. But he was up for the challenge!

He quickly proceeded to spray paint it gold.  It looked great!  After it dried,  he brought it into the  house to study how he could hang the fastener on the back,  to the mirror tiles.  He went back in the garage and "reformed" a picture hook.....  brought it in,  and taped it to the center of the mirrors.  Clever, so clever!

Now this is where it goes downhill.  As he was  fastening the mirror to the newly taped hook,  the backing of the entire piece, fastener and all,  fell into his hands.

 No problem... This is MC.......he could easily make a new backing.....

Back to the garage!  The next thing I heard were loud "words" I have never heard from my MC..  I ran into the garage and his face told the story.  He broke the Mirror!!!!!!

Plan B

 Hang the frame (without the mirror)   over the mirror tiles!  Too simply...
 He held it up and it looked like a frame over four broken mirrors!
Go to......

Plan C

In his stock of supplies from previous projects,  were left over mirror tiles.  He was able to cut one to fit the back of the frame.  Perfect!
Now.....all he had to do was glue the new mirror piece to the frame and glue the fastener to the "new" mirror.  This he did and we waited for the "glue" to set.

After dinner he brought in his masterpiece and hung it on the hook that was taped to the mirror tiles....

I KNOW,  YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENED......DON'T YOU?

Yes, Yes, the entire piece fell to the floor.  The tape gave out!!!!
This time the mirror didn't break.....this time THE FRAME broke!

Now this whole thing was going to the dogs!!! Way too much work and stress for a silly $4.25 project!!

But MC, being MC was not going to be defeated!  He glued some of the obvious pieces of the broken frame and decided the rest wouldn't be noticed.  He sprayed it with the gold paint, again..... and again,  we waited for it to dry.

We decided to marinate this project and think how to fasten it to the mirror tiles ...after a good nights rest!

With all the confidence in the world, a few hours ago, MC announced that he figured it out!

He would use velcro!
He did.... and it was hung.  I quickly took a few pictures.......thinking I'd at least have a picture, before it fell to the floor once more.

It has been over an hour.........and it's still up there.

By the way, have you noticed all the great additions I have been adding to the right side of the blog? Wonderful, wonderful websites with insurmountable ideas. Also,  I have added great blogs I have found.  Whenever a blogger writes a new post, the blog moves to the top of the list.  I am learning so much about this "tool" and I'm having a ball!  Let's see what I can do to make this interesting..........

SHERRY IS RIGHT!

 Scotts is amazing!

Yes, Sherry, it is quite the place!  We only had time to walk through the South Building.  Leaving we drove around the Garden Center.  Never got to the North Building...saw the luxury bus making it's last run for the day.  We got there around 2:00 ......it closes at 4:00 ....poor timing but it did give us an idea and  a chance to feel the experience.

On the way parking the car, I spotted a teeny mirror on the outside of the building....Of course we had to check it out before we ever entered the building!   



 

MC and the Dealer did some serious bargaining.......He was asking $5. MC offered $4!  By the time the Dealer went through change for MC's $5 dollar bill, we paid $4.25....he was making up the last 25 cents with nickles and pennies!  I certainly hope he had other sales today!  He asked us a couple of times what we were going to do with it.  We told him we would probably paint it gold and go from there...  I have no idea where it will end up, but I have seen these little mirrors showing up in a lot of high end rooms!

 This is where we parked......Took many minutes to find a secluded spot for our new "Used" car!  MC had to walk all the way back with the mirror before we went into the building!

  By the time we got in the building, most of the Dealers were packing up and loading their trucks.  We split up and decided to  met an hour later.









I was so excited I found the white painted chair with the black cushions that I loved on Sherry's blog!  Holly was so pleasant to talk to.  She was packing up and will be  back next month in a larger space.


 

 Love her dress!!!

 . Holly has done a great job refurbishing the piece.  The fabric is a very fine linen.  She said it will be featured in Oprah's magazine.......I sadly had to leave it.....$825 didn't fit this month's budget!

Met up with MC who had done his own searching.  He found two gems.....

This is a picture of the ship his Grandfather sailed from Italy to America on!!!  His father's father arrived on September 26, 1910 at Ellis Island

The top pennant depicts the  games VPI (Va Tech) played against U Va. from 1899 until 1905.  U Va. won all but the last one in 1905.  Tech won 11-0.  U Va.  refused to play them again until 1923....Tech won that one 6-3!
This was $1200.....

Sadly we left, spending the original $4.25!!!!
