A SPECIAL POST FOR A VERY SPECIAL GIFT
My Brother Bobby was my Guest yesterday. He gave me a very special gift before the ceremony began. I wanted to share it with everyone in a separate manner in addition to the original Post and MC found a way for me to get it on the blog!!! MC is a Master Computer guy!!!
This is an actual booklet of the Constitution and By-Laws of the National Society of the Daughters Of The American Revolution from 1914
This means so much to me and is extra special because it is the year of my Dad's birth!
Thank you Bobby. Thank you so very much
Love

PROUD to be a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution
Today was the big day!
After months of filling out reams of paper work and tons and tons of research, I was inducted into the DAR. A dream of my mother's! MC and my Brother Bobby accompanied me to the swearing in and luncheon.
MC and the Local Registrar did all the work! All I did was freak out at each and every hold up
and pass information back and forth between Connie, the Registrar, and MC! My brothers were also a big help in finding family information and certificates. They all deserve the credit for making this day possible. You can't imagine all the documentation and work involved . My Thanks to ALL!
MC developed a love for the research work while working on my lineage . He is now doing voluntary "Indexing" for an online genealogy research site. He loves the work, spending many hours every day at his computer! I even tease him that it has become an addiction! He also has become a member of the Genealogy Club here in Shell Point, and loves sharing all the information he has found. I have been trying for days to make up a new title out of MC and came up with "Master Computer "Indexer".
I have to confess that I "did it again"! I failed to check the time for the affair. I went by the time of last month's meeting and in doing so I was a half hour late! I did make a Grand Entrance to say the least! But somehow arrived just in time to be sworn in with the other new members!

It only took 4 months!!!
This morning the Maintenance Department here in Shell Point installed our long awaited Chandelier!!! Really friends, how long did you think it would take me to have a Chandelier? (4 months)
Found a great location in our Retirement "Pied-a-Terre"!!!! That's all I needed, a location and the right fixture ..........and off I was.
MC and I are truly enjoying our new "life". Only regret....We should have done it sooner! A LOT SOONER!!
We both have found lots to do to stay busy.
We love Shell Point and all it's beauty and all that it has to offer. The best part WE HAVE PEACE OF MIND!!!
ENJOY

Shell Point--Our New Life!
MC and I are settled into our new apartment. We now enjoy strolling around our "neighborhood" after dinner.
I am amazed at the beauty that surrounds us at Shell Point!
MC has been taking pictures and I wish to share what he has captured!
To begin, Shell Point, covers about 800 acres. There is so much here and every day we find somewhere new to explore!
THE WELCOME CENTER IS TO THE RIGHT OF THE GATE...
This Nest Is Built in The Water Where the Channel Meets The River
Banyons
Orchid hot house
Cameo Garden Apartment--Our Home
Hurricane Shelter--Hope We Never Have to Use It
Kayak Storage
SUNDIAL APARTMENTS
and Our Marina
SUNDIAL APARTMENTS
.....And this is JUST THE ISLAND......
There are also two additional Assisted Living facilities:
A new Club House is under construction at the Golf Course, and is estimated to be completed in October. It will house, among other things, two new restaurants and a fabulous spa and salon!
I hope I have given you a glimpse of our new life here in Shell Point. Our 700 sq.ft.apartment is just a small part of the big, wonderful world we now live in.
