OLDE TOWN GRAYSON'S BLOG LATEST POST

A few weeks ago Olde Town Grayson's Marketing editor visited us for an interview!   Steve and I had a wonderful afternoon visiting with Louise and found her a joy.  There should be a blog about her.  Her life is like a book!  Louise snapped this shot of us.  A few days later their Marketing Photographer visited us and took many pictures which I assume will show up later!!!!  Naturally I will send them on..

I think you all will enjoy this read!!!!

CHOCOLATE CAKE and btw a 10 foot wall unit

Yesterday I enjoyed my second, and still one of the best,  chocolate cakes ever!
Yes, you guessed it, MC and I "motored" to IKEA!
What a difference driving there from our new home compared to SunCity...... a half hour less and no traffic!!
MC has decided that IKEA can do all the work!  He figures why should he play "Super Cabinet Maker".    Their products fit our home so well.  And...it saves MC lots of pain and lots of money!

All he has to do is assemble them!!!

The purpose of our adventure yesterday, was to buy the wall unit we had seen on our last trip.  We measured the space and we were ecstatic when we discovered that three units would fit like a glove on our wall!!!
Again, it is a perfect fit!!!

The trick would be if we could get all three boxes in our car!  We bought two  first to see how they fit with the idea we could go back in and get the third or come back today and get the third unit.

LUCKILY ALL THREE FIT!!!

MC immediately got to work putting the first one together!!!!

FRAMED !

Mirrors, that is!

MC has just completed his "First" task at carpentry in the HEAH!  (our Happily Ever After Home).
He made three frames for the three, almost identical, bathroom vanity mirrors.   The cabinetry is painted in a black finish and we decided to go with black frames.

This is the third home he has done this, so he has it done pretty tight !   We have had a number of finishes in our other homes, but I don't think (?) we ever went with black!

So pleased with the results.....down the road we will devote our attention to replacing the lighting.    It will be one of those things, when I see what I think will work, we will go for it!  I don't feel like scanning 1000's of lighting fixtures on the internet in search for the perfect lights.  One day they will just  appear!  Would like to replace the "Gallery Hall" light fixtures as well.  We have plenty of time, don't want everything immediately.  This home has so many features that were Standard, we don't feel the need to change very much right off the bat!

So here are the images of MC's Framed Mirrors!!

The Master Bath has two identical vanities and mirrors .  The Hall Bath has one vanity and one sink, again, identical to the two in the Master Bath

Chapter One.....DONE!!

See you soon...
ps....need to "soften" up the look.  Will work on it!

MC AND HIS "LITTLE PEOPLE"

I have been very lax at writing this particular post!   Many, many of MC's Fans have asked me to do it!  Finally, here it is!!!!!

A few years ago, MC, decided to try his "hand" at wood carving!  He Googled some websites and did a lot of research.   After his wood, knives and special gloves arrived, he began what has become a very popular hobby.  He has many "fans" looking at his creations, in awe!

His first two attempts were the following.

Soon after these masterpieces were completed, he decided to add some "Personality" to his figures!
